Raeleigh Walker is a trending artist out of Lower Sackville, NS. Recently finding her calling as a professional artist, Rae has dedicated much of her time to her craft, pursuing art shows, taking commissions, creating her own webpage, and selling at community Farmer’s Markets. She is driven and hardworking, seeking out new angles for client outreach in any possible way. Her mediums of choice are acrylic and oil-based. She subscribes to continued professional development, enrolling herself in night classes at NSCAD.
When she is not tucked away working on an art piece, Rae works part-time at the Spindrift Gallery at Peggy’s Cove, where she loves to show historic photographic art to tourists by the ocean. She finds comfort and inspiration in being here, and is always happy to talk about Peggy’s Cove, local history, and life on the East Coast.
Rae’s style focuses on East Coast nature scenes, from macro art to landscapes, pulling inspiration from places she’s been and moments she’s enjoyed. She has an eye for worldly beauty; her pieces lead one away from a busy city to a quieter place, of soil underfoot and a warm breeze in the air.

Which ’hood are you in?
I currently live in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia. I previously lived in Halifax for a few years, and I’m originally from Truro, Nova Scotia.
What do you do?
I’m an oil and acrylic painter. I’ve painted with acrylic for many years before starting to paint with oils about a year ago. I love both mediums for different reasons, and enjoy alternating between them.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on a painting of the Halifax Commons, along with some smaller paintings inspired by Peggy’s Cove, where I’ve spent a good portion of my summer this year. I’m also working on a few commissioned pieces.
