Bobby McGuire is the creator behind McGuire Style, a Halifax-based men’s fashion and lifestyle platform. He started McGuire Style as a creative outlet that combines his passion for fashion, photography, and storytelling. His goal is to show that style isn’t about following every trend, but about wearing what makes you feel confident and authentic. Through outfit inspiration, fashion photography, creative reels, and brand collaborations, McGuire hopes to encourage others to elevate their personal style in a way that feels approachable and true to who they are. He loves working with fashion and lifestyle brands that align with his values and allow him to create content that’s both creative and genuine. For McGuire, every project is an opportunity to tell a story, experiment with new ideas, and inspire others to see fashion as a form of self-expression. We spoke with him to learn more.
What is your channel called and what is it about?
My platform is called McGuire Style, and it’s centered around men’s fashion, personal style, and lifestyle content. I create outfit inspiration, styling tips, fashion photography, and cinematic reels that encourage people to feel more confident in what they wear. I want to show that fashion is for everyone and that developing your own personal style doesn’t have to be complicated.
When did you start it? What motivated you at the beginning?
I started creating content in 2018 because I wanted a creative outlet that combined my love of fashion and photography. I noticed there wasn’t a lot of men’s fashion content being created locally, so I decided to build something that reflected my own style while hopefully inspiring others to find theirs.
Who were you inspired by? Any influences?
Some of my biggest influences come from my time working in menswear. I was fortunate to learn from mentors like Phil Bennett and Keith Humby, who introduced me to the world of tailored suits, business casual style, and the confidence that comes from dressing well. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting Joseph Abboud, whose timeless approach to menswear has been a source of inspiration throughout my career.
More than anything, it was my colleagues in menswear who encouraged me to start creating content. They believed I had something valuable to share and pushed me to put myself out there. Their encouragement gave me the confidence to create McGuire Style, with the goal of helping others discover their own personal style, dress with confidence, and realize that looking your best isn’t about following trends, it’s about being authentic to yourself.
How would you describe your audience?
My audience is made up of a diverse group of people who share an interest in fashion, personal style, and lifestyle content. While a large portion of my community is made up of fellow Haligonians and Canadians, I’ve also been fortunate to grow an audience in the United States through collaborations with American brands and personalities, including Michael Strahan. It’s incredibly rewarding to see McGuire Style resonate with people beyond Canada. I’m also humbled to have the support of some well-known names who follow my journey, including former UFC champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk, country artist Aaron Goodvin, and Canadian rock legend Kim Mitchell. At the end of the day, I’m grateful for everyone who chooses to be part of the McGuire Style community.
What is your creative process? Do you have people who work with you?
Every piece of content starts with an idea. I think about the story I want to tell, choose the outfits, scout locations, and plan the overall look before I start shooting. I handle all of the photography, filming, editing, and graphic design myself, so McGuire Style is truly a one-person creative project. That allows me to keep everything consistent with my vision
How do you monetize your content? Do you also have another job?
I work with fashion and lifestyle brands through sponsored collaborations, product features, and creative partnerships. Alongside content creation, I also work full-time as a sales consultant for O’Regan’s BMW! Balancing both can be challenging, but creating content is something I’m genuinely passionate about, so it’s always worth making the time
What is your favourite piece of content you have created?
My favourite piece of content was a collaboration with the Michael Strahan Brand. It was created before AI-powered editing became widely available, so everything was done manually. The reel featured two versions of myself getting ready in the morning using mirror effects and seamless transitions. I experimented with advanced editing techniques like masking, overlays, and mirrored video effects to bring the concept to life. It was one of the first projects where I really pushed myself creatively, and it remains one of the pieces I’m most proud of because it perfectly combined fashion, storytelling, and technical editing
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
The best part is hearing that I’ve inspired someone to try a new style or feel more confident in what they wear. Knowing that something I’ve created has had a positive impact on someone else is incredibly rewarding. The biggest challenge is balancing content creation with a full-time career. There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes, and creating high-quality content takes much more time than most people realize.
What are your future plans for your channel?
I want to continue growing McGuire Style into one of Atlantic Canada’s leading men’s fashion and lifestyle platforms. I want to surpass 10,000 followers. I’d love to collaborate with more fashion brands, create larger editorial-style campaigns, and continue pushing myself creatively while building a community that values confidence, authenticity, and personal style.

One Canadian creator I really enjoy following is @HalifaxLogan. He captures incredible photos and videos from all across Nova Scotia, often showcasing familiar places from unique and unexpected perspectives. I’ve been following his work for years, and it’s been inspiring to watch his creativity evolve. It’s also pretty special to know he’s been supporting McGuire Style since the early days, so it’s great to be able to return that support.
