Five Minutes With: Rock Musician Elyse Aeryn

Elyse Aeryn makes music for the wild hearts—those who crave connection, catharsis, and a little rebellion.

Serving soulful roots-rock with a gritty edge, her songs feel like the windows rolled down on a late-night drive—equal parts raw power and tender reflection. With fierce vocals and heartfelt storytelling, Elyse delivers performances that hit you where it hurts, yet heal you by her next breath. Whether you discovered her on a TikTok scroll or her voice found you through the radio airwaves, know this: there’s a depth behind that first impression—a catalogue full of hard-won truths, fearless energy, and moments that will make you feel seen.

She’s not just building momentum—she commands it. Elyse was crowned Music Nova Scotia’s Entertainer of the Year in 2024, named a 2023 Wavemaker Ambassador for the Halifax JUNO Awards, and voted Best New Artist in The Coast’s Best of Halifax reader poll. Her debut album, Joy State of Mind, earned an East Coast Music Association nomination for Rock Recording of the Year and won Country Recording of the Year at the Music Nova Scotia Awards. Now known across the Maritimes for her dynamic stage presence and compelling vocal delivery, Elyse has quickly become one of Atlantic Canada’s most exciting breakout acts—an artist with the talent, determination, and heart’s fire to go the distance.

Now she’s doubling down. Elyse’s sophomore album released February 26, 2026. Recorded at Soundpark Studios in Sydney, Nova Scotia, alongside 15-time ECMA winner and 2024 ECMA Audio Engineer of the Year Jamie Foulds (Pretty Archie, Carmen Townsend), and fully mastered by Grammy-winner Harry Hess (Arkells, The Trews), “Everybody Loves You…” captures the soulful vocals, roots-rock edge, and pop sensibility that make Elyse Aeryn stand out. Reviving the spirit of the female rock archetype, this is the album music fans have been waiting for. Already well received across genres, its first single, “Unstoppable,” ranked #1 on CIOE’s Top 100 East Coast Songs of 2025 and cracked both the Mediabase/Billboard Canada Active Rock and Country charts. The track was also featured by Rogers Sportsnet to soundtrack Canadian tennis sensation Vicky Mboko’s historic National Bank Open climb and eventual victory in Montreal that same year.

Nominated for three East Coast Music Awards, including Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2026, Elyse Aeryn is ready to take on Canada and the world—one heart-racing show at a time.

EP or LP?

LP because it tells more of the story and allows the listener further inside the artist’s world. I still love listening to a full album front to back, in order, no skips. However, if an EP is all an artist can afford or handle, I love to see anyone just getting their music out!

Early bird or night owl?

Night owl, but I wish I could be both!

Road or studio?

Tough question. Both, but it depends. I love the studio when I’m feeling the fire of inspiration to bring my inner world to life through song. I love the road when I’m feeling compelled to share that magic and connect with the outside world.

Any shows or albums coming up?

The next shows are at the East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs), this year in my hometown of Sydney, NS, where I’m nominated for three awards, including Breakthrough Artist of the Year! Those shows are on my website now, and my upcoming tour dates are being added as they firm up!
