Greg Aver, the partner of Emily Krueckl, who sees her in her home studio every day, sees her constantly in her creative zone, thinking of new ideas and ways to improve herself as an artist and offer the world something unique.
“Whether it is painting, drawing, felting, etc., her drive never ceases to amaze me, and I am so proud of the discipline she shows in her craft.
What astonishes me the most is her ability to truly represent life on canvas. I envy that she can see an image of someone and put it on canvas without losing any sense of the person’s identity. It blows me away and is something that everyone around her recognizes and praises.
A major part of her success is the fact that Emily Krueckl lives and breathes art. Even when her painting time is finished, and it is time to relax and throw on some television, she refuses to sit still and continues to improve her skills, whether it is through drawing, felting, or digital art. I encourage her to take a break once in a while, but I realize that this is who she is and is what makes her the exceptionally talented artist she has become.”

Which ’hood are you in?
I live next to the Forum between the North and the West End.
What do you do?
I am a visual artist with a primary interest in painting. I also make drawings, hand-printed works, fibre art and, most recently, digital drawing.
What are you currently working on?
Right now, I am working on various commissions for the holidays, as well as two larger paintings for an upcoming gallery show submission. I also keep an ongoing collection of 6” x 6” paintings that serve as a way to explore new ideas or focus on things that just interest me! Outside of the work I make for galleries and to sell, I have recently been trying to teach myself digital drawing.
Where can we find your work?
You can find my work at Argyle Fine Art, Teichert Gallery, Meyvn Sustainable Apparel, and the occasional craft market. You can also contact me directly by email or on Instagram for purchase inquiries!
