“A Day in the Life” with: Visual Artist Shelley Mansel

Shelley Mansel has been painting for over 30 years. Originally from BC, Shelley came to Nova Scotia for Art School (NSCAD) and fell in love with the East Coast, so she decided to stay! She’s always painted the landscape, and her subject matter ranges from water ripples, beaches, fires and houses, to name a few. She represents her subjects with a distinct painterly style in acrylics, and often chooses a palette of blues, greens, brown and aqua. Shelley paints the familiar essence of a place in her paintings, and her sense of light is very distinctive. She is a full-time artist who lives and works from her home in rural Nova Scotia. She is represented by The Prow Gallery in Halifax, Gallery B in Maine, and Harvest Gallery in Wolfville.
