Brandon Michael has carved out a unique lane in the Halifax comedy scene by embracing the weird — and then pushing it even further. Blending stand-up, sketch, multimedia, and absurdist experimentation, Michael draws inspiration from boundary-pushing comics like Jon Dore, Zach Galifianakis, Brent Weinbach, and Nathan Fielder. Whether he’s building bits around PowerPoints, audio cues, or chaotic live-show concepts, Brandon thrives in spaces that reward risk-taking and creative unpredictability. A regular collaborator with fellow Halifax comics and artists, his comedy feels part performance art experiment, part late-night fever dream — all delivered with the energy of someone genuinely excited to see how far a joke can go.

What is your pre-show ritual?
Pacing, jumping jacks, talking with other comics.
What is your favourite place you have performed? Why?
Xeroz in Moncton. It’s just perfect. It can be hard to find a place that is not only down for experimentation but also encourages it.
What is your favourite bit you have written and why were you proud of it?
I’m partial to the bits I’ve written that incorporate audio/visual elements. Any time I can make a PowerPoint or have audio cues, I’m satisfied.

The best recommendations come from other comics!
